Love is when you see your love
but cannot stop your eyes turning back to see once more
Love is when you feel the heart stops,
but put your hands on chest to listen heartbeat running faster
Love is when you hate waking up early, 
but cannot sleep whole night to see your love in morning
Love is when you stay day and night together, 
but still you tell why a day is only twenty four hours
Love is when you knew your love goes for a short journey, 
but still you fear it won’t come back again

Love is when you want to cry loudly, 
but don’t shed tears as you promised to your Love
Love is when you dance in happiness under the shower, 
when you have high fever
Love is when you kiss all time,
but feels like the first kiss in your life
Love is when you see the crowd, 
but feels the presence of only two
Love is when you make out the truth, 
but runs after the desert mirage
Love is when you know the absence, 
but makes your heart feel the presence of someone

Love is when words hurt you, 
but you close your lips to disclose the pain
Love is when you awake whole night,
to see your love sleeping peacefully
Love is when you miss the train,
to stay for your love before you say goodbye
Love is when wait endlessly, 
when you knew that your love won’t come again

Lessons from a Matchstick

We know that a match is a flammable object for lighting a fire in required situation. This match sticks even though very small but can teach big lessons. It rubs itself on the rough surface again and again until it burns to ignite the light. The first lesson is that if you want to get something from life, you have bet ready to rub yourself to difficult situations of life. You should be ready to face the hurdles of life. The second lesson is that just like the match stick burns itself to light candles and lamps, if you have something never hesitate to share with others if the person is in need of it. If you have small amount of knowledge share it to others who may come out with new knowledge for the benefit of all. When I thought to pen down something for the Kalinga Samaj e-magazine, I was puzzled while selecting a topic, because many years have passed, I would have written anything in odia. Then I  remembered about my school days and my odia lessons. I just could not just control myself to stop laughing for number of incidents relating to my subject odia in my school days- our odia teacher, the handwritings, the essay competitions, the odia idioms, story writing assignments, punishments, examinations days, daddy’s practise sessions and lots more. Childhood days are amazing in classroom, but a little tough for an English medium student in the odia class. With time, the love for the mother tongue grows, the tough subject seems a treasure to the heart and life.
