I cry as well as smile
What Love is, I wondered!

When we meet each other
Love, wonderful discovery

Million shining everyday
For his gifted pain

I owe to her- for She
Loves unconditional
Mother, an Angel

Counting days and nights
As he said me to wait few more days
Yes or No- He will say

Looks, I prefer not
Your heart, what I really desire
I am in love with you

Black, the colour of skin
Not the shade of your loving heart
Beauty not defined

Smile smiling in my lips
You, Reason of my happiness
My Love, I ask for more

A new city I saw
That never sleeps, day or night
Awakens my eye's dreams

My silence is the loud voice
That speaks hearts anger and pain

Muhjko teri takdeer bana de;
Zindegi ki koi tasveer bana de;
Jo roop na dekhi ho khusiyon ki tum;
Wo nazaron ki tu muhje noor bana de.

Mera neend mera chain churake
Wo kitne aaram se soye hain
Mere pyare massok se pucho
Wo kiske yaadon men khoye hain

Yeah jo ek mann hai mera
Jane kyun chahe hone tera
Chup kyun hai tu, tera marzi hai kya
Khamosi men mohabat ikrar hoti hai kya

Na manat se mile wo
Na manane se
Milke bhi na mile
Aur dur chale gaye
Takdeer ke bahanse se

Fir wahi suni suni raat aagayi
Honton men teri har baat yaad agayi
Kasoor toh thi nehi kisika
Fir kyun yeh judai ki sath aagayi

Yeah jo ek mann hai mera
Jane kyun chahe hone tera
Chup kyun hai tu, tera marzi hai kya
Khamosi men mohabat ikrar hoti hai kya

Duniya ka yeh kaisa ajeeb dastur hai
Yahan sache aashiq ka hamesha kasoor hai
Mohabat men milti nehi janat ka sath
Par gham ki sagar men doobta zaroor hai

Hazar baar dekha hai taroh ko tutte huye.
Hazar baar dekha hai daman chut te huye.
Tera sath jab mila tha tab hum sabar gaye the.
Sath chut raha hai toh bikhar gaye hain.

Lessons from a Matchstick

We know that a match is a flammable object for lighting a fire in required situation. This match sticks even though very small but can teach big lessons. It rubs itself on the rough surface again and again until it burns to ignite the light. The first lesson is that if you want to get something from life, you have bet ready to rub yourself to difficult situations of life. You should be ready to face the hurdles of life. The second lesson is that just like the match stick burns itself to light candles and lamps, if you have something never hesitate to share with others if the person is in need of it. If you have small amount of knowledge share it to others who may come out with new knowledge for the benefit of all. When life of the match stick is for few seconds but by burning itself it lights other big objects which removes the darkness around you. Same way in every big sculpture there are small hands. Odisha: Memories Recollected

When I thought to pen down something for the Kalinga Samaj e-magazine, I was puzzled while selecting a topic, because many years have passed, I would have written anything in odia. Then I  remembered about my school days and my odia lessons. I just could not just control myself to stop laughing for number of incidents relating to my subject odia in my school days- our odia teacher, the handwritings, the essay competitions, the odia idioms, story writing assignments, punishments, examinations days, daddy’s practise sessions and lots more. Childhood days are amazing in classroom, but a little tough for an English medium student in the odia class. With time, the love for the mother tongue grows, the tough subject seems a treasure to the heart and life. No one in this world, who are born and brought up in Odisha, would have forgotten the childhood day’s lullaby sang by their mother.
